Project outline This position is supported by the innovative CRC-STARS programme, funded by CRUK, and will focus on improving the impact of therapy for colorectal cancer patients. The Sansom laboratory has a world-leading record in this research area, with a particular focus on the impact of oncogenic mutations upon cancer stem cell populations
in vivo , and the development of novel, effective therapeutic approaches. As part of a large collaborative programme, you will use cutting-edge
in vivo
and
in vitro
models to develop our understanding of cancer cell plasticity in response to treatment and determine how this may be restricted, in order to improve treatment outcomes. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field, be ambitious and be driven by scientific curiosity. Existing skills with regard to cell signalling, cancer/molecular biology and targeted therapeutics are desired and experience of transcriptional profiling would be an advantage but is not essential.
