What the role involves

• Running detailed EMT simulations in PSCAD to analyse system behaviour under disturbances, switching events, and control interactions.
• Producing structured, high-quality technical documentation suitable for both internal review and external compliance requirements.
• Python, MATLAB) to improve workflow efficiency.

Skills and requirements

• Academic background in Electrical or Power Engineering , or equivalent practical experience.
• Around 5+ years of hands-on PSCAD experience focused on EMT analysis.
• Solid working knowledge of PSS/E for network and dynamic studies.
• Experience dealing with third-party/OEM models , including parameterisation and validation.

Additional role context

• Contribute across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through to operations, by.
• Building and refining simulation models for key components such as wind turbines, plant controllers, and grid interfaces (HVAC/HVDC systems, FACTS devices where relevant).
• Carrying out power system assessments in PSS/E , including steady-state, fault, and dynamic performance studies.
