Powerplant is one of the key teams within our Engineering and Maintenance Department. The team is in charge of any on-wing and off-wing activities that are required to maintain easyJet’s fleet of engines (CFM56 and LEAP-1A), APUs (Honeywell 131-9A) and nacelles, ensuring at the same time full compliance with the Continuous Airworthiness requirements of EASA and CAA and Part CAMO. The Powerplant Engineer is responsible for the continuous airworthiness of all engines operated by easyJet and provides technical support for all Powerplant related operational issues. To improve aircraft availability and system reliability of easyJet aircraft through active monitoring of Powerplant (engines and APU) and associated system performance. To assess and initiate the follow up actions for all Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters, Modification leaflets and all other technical documentation that could affect the continued airworthiness of easyJet aircraft. To provide technical support for Powerplant related operational problems and to be proactive in ensuring the continued airworthiness of easyJet’s fleet. The Powerplant Engineer we are seeking will have the opportunity to work across all engine types operated by easyJet, primarily focusing on our fleet of APUs. What you need to do the role To be the most suited candidate for our Powerplant Engineer position you will have an Engineering degree, Aircraft Engineer’s Licence, or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, along with a minimum of three years' experience in providing technical services within aerospace engineering or maintenance environments, including at least one year focused on jet turbine powerplants. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting airframer and engine manufacturer technical documentation, and have a solid understanding of EASA Part CAMO & Part 145 regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial for regular interaction with suppliers and regulatory authorities, while the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, coupled with familiarity with CAA, EASA, DGAC, and FAA regulations, is expected. Candidates should be numerate and analytical, with proficiency in relevant software tools and decision support systems. Proficiency in IT, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary, along with a working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation. The ability to communicate complex technical issues in simple terms to non-technical management, coupled with a commercial mindset and a focus on cost efficiency, will be highly valued in this role.
