Required skills and experience Development, configuration, modification and debugging of test cell control & data acquisition software (e.g N.I Labview, Veristand, SierraCP Cadet, AVL Puma, FEV Morphee or similar) Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience of powertrain test cells, facilities & chambers and their component parts. Measurement and instrumentation equipment/devices such as power analysers, oscilloscopes, fuel weighers, emissions/particulate measurement, sensors and transducers. A/C drives and Batt SIM fault finding and test system integration experience. System communications - E.g CAN, Flexray, LIN, Modbus, RS232/485 etc. Capable of extracting key actions/issues and determining required action.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will work closely with the Project Support & Facilities team and Project Engineers to ensure timely and efficient set-up of new customer projects to deliver industry-leading service across two test facilities in Milton Keynes. Help to identify and implement improvements in equipment and operating practices to drive continuous improvement for the benefit of Intertek and our customers.

Main tasks and responsibilities include: Working with Project Engineers to derive and deliver technical requirements for customer projects. Technical ownership of test cell and equipment configuration for each project

Instrumentation Equipment set-up H&S sign-off Project-specific risk assessments Fault finding and rectification

Standardisation of test set-up equipment, configuration and procedures. Commissioning of new equipment. Responsibility for mobile test equipment procurement, maintenance, calibration and configuration. Awareness and communication of risks and issues. Contribute to the departmental communications plan including regular meetings, team briefings and one-to-one meetings. Contribute to department KPI data as agreed with Project Support & Facilities Manager to drive a step-change in project set-up times. Maintain asset databases to track equipment status. Ensure controlled documents are maintained within the Quality system. Manage external suppliers of critical equipment and services to ensure efficient equipment operation. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
