We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with a valid UK NMC registration to join our team, supporting colleagues to develop skills in palliative and end of life care. About us

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters. Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham is Gloucestershire's only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care. We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure, and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with emotional, practical, and spiritual support. We provide care on our inpatient unit, virtually, and in person through our community hub and in people's homes through our Hospice at Home service. Job responsibilities

The position is based within the education and clinical teams, reporting to the Head of Clinical Services and working with the central Sue Ryder education team. The post provides a great development opportunity for someone who is interested in furthering their career in healthcare or specialising in palliative care and education. We would consider an applicant who does not yet have a teaching qualification and will support them to achieve this. You will develop and support the education and training needs of the clinical healthcare workforce, contributing towards the delivery of the organisational Clinical Education Strategy and Framework including facilitating learning in palliative care. Within this role, you will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise and credibility in clinical practice by always being a role model. There are a range of opportunities to develop academically and professionally for the successful candidate. Person Specification

Qualifications

You will be a registered Nurse with a UK NMC pin, educated to degree level (or working towards) who can evidence Practice Supervisor or Practice Assessor training in an acute or community environment. You will be an enthusiastic practitioner who can work both independently and collaboratively to implement and innovate practice. You will also be able to demonstrate ongoing evidence of continued professional development. Working knowledge of training needs analysis, planning, and facilitation of adult-based learning, mandatory and priority training requirements is required for this post. You will use different learning styles and applications in delivering education and training and have a sound working knowledge for the clinical assessment of registered and non-registered staff is also needed for this post. We aim to give all candidates the opportunity to perform at their best during our recruitment and interview process, so please let us know if you require any adjustments made. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
