Due to retirement, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Manager to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the practice, driving growth and sustainability in line with NHS policies and developments. The ideal candidate needs to be highly organised with experience of leading and managing a team. The candidate must have excellent communication, HR, IT, and financial management skills. Experience working within a similar healthcare setting is preferred. Previous leadership and management experience is essential. The Practice Manager is a key member of the team and will be expected to help and support the team in achieving goals and targets, to be able to motivate the team and to delegate where necessary, and work closely with the GP Partner to ensure continuity and maintenance of the high standards of the practice. Main duties of the job

Management of the day-to-day operations of the practice. HR Management. Workforce planning. Ensure employment law and legislation is adhered to. Liaise with the Primary Care Network. Provide support and advice to the partnership. Keep up to date with developments and changes within primary care. Finance lead on payroll and pensions, ensuring accurate reporting and submissions. Maximise income and reduce expenditure. Ensure Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and commissioned service targets are met. Manage the significant event and complaints processes, in line with current legislation and guidance. Manage contracts and maintenance for services and equipment. Oversee the review and update of all practice policies and procedures. Lead and coordinate projects within the practice. Oversee the management of the practice IT system, including compliance with the Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT). Coordinate the practice development plan and business continuity plan. Preparation of business cases for new services. Ensure ongoing CQC compliance. Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its NHSE contractual obligations. Provide advice and support to the staff and the partnership to ensure effective team working. Manage effective communication, both internal and external, and ensure the website and other communication platforms are accurate and up to date. Facilitate partners and practice meetings and maintain an up-to-date action plan. Management of the PPG. Manage estates and facilities. About us

Poplar House surgery is a 2-partner GP practice based in Lytham St Annes with a patient list size of around 6700. We have a team of regular dedicated clinical staff, including 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 3 Healthcare Assistants, and 1 Physician Associate. Our admin team consists of 2 secretaries, 5 admin staff, and 7 receptionists. We use the Emis clinical system. Our practice continually strives to improve work processes and is looking for a new Practice Manager who is dedicated and enthusiastic in being a part of forward changes. Job responsibilities

You will have responsibility for the management of the administrative teams, reception heads, and organisational matters emerging from the management of the clinical teams. You will be responsible for the following, though there may be occasions to undertake other tasks where necessary for the efficient delivery of the practice's business: Strategic Management and Planning. Property management. Organisational and Governance Responsibilities. HR/Workforce Management. Communication and working with other partners. CQC. Person Specification

Qualifications

Experience of commitment to continuing professional development. Experience of managing people, working in teams, and promoting teamwork. Planning and prioritising. Demonstrate robust leadership and communication skills and have strong HR and organisational abilities. Good time management. Proactive and enthusiastic. Finance experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Motivated and proactive. Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations. Ability to work under pressure. Confident, assertive, and resilient. Degree level qualification or equivalent. Experience of working with regulatory bodies. Experience of change management. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
