Job Summary West Leeds Family Practice is a long established, proactive, respected and friendly GP training practice, with a growing list size of 20,000 patients, located across 3 sites in West Leeds. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated practice manager to lead the practice in continuing to develop and embrace new ways of working and ensure that opportunities maximise productivity whilst delivering excellent patient care. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and take responsibility for organisational leadership, service improvement and delivery of key targets across all clinical and administrative areas within the practice. Previous management experience, leadership and people skills, competency in office IT and effective communication skills at all levels is essential. Main Duties of the Job Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice; ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities. Reporting directly to the GP Partners, the Practice Manager must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and experience; and be proactive and well organised with a passion for delivering high standards in patient or customer services. You must be a self-motivated, disciplined individual with the ability to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the practice; working alongside the GP Partners. About Us West Leeds Family Practice is a forward-thinking professional organisation, we have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our outstanding GP Practice. We are a high achieving QOF Practice. We have 20,000 patients and a large team of GP's, Nurses, HCA and administration. We are a Training Practice for both GP Registrars and Leeds University Medical Students. We have the following in-house services for our patients: Family planning service providers for both Implants and Coil devices Minor surgery including joint injections Paramedic home visiting team support Pharmacy Team including PCN Pharmacist support Social Prescribers and Occupational Therapists Physio First service Ultrasound scanning Community Matron support and Frailty Nurse support Job Responsibilities Working as a key member of the management team, you will line manage and develop non-clinical practice staff and be responsible for the production of performance and quality standards within the practice, delivered through QOF, Enhanced services and other incentives. Proven senior leadership experience, excellent communication skills, a high level of IT skills including GP IT, analytical skills and experience of working at a managerial level within a GP practice are all essential for this post. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining an oversight of NHS and CQC developments and legislative changes and advising GP Partners on their impact on the practice. Attend partner meetings, prepare agendas and ensure distribution of minutes to the partners. Ensure all actions from practice meetings are carried out. In conjunction with the Nurse Manager, manage the procurement of practice equipment, medical and non-medical supplies and services within budget. Oversee overall management of CQC compliance and records for inspections. Ensure effective internal and external communications across a range of media. Project manage new and developing service change within the practice and PCN. Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensure practice adherence. Ensure the practice complies with NHS contractual obligations in relation to patient care. Oversee continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
