Practice Manager - Equine Vets Salary:

£40,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience. Role:

Full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (between 8am – 6pm) with some remote working. Part time hours will be considered. Location:

Surrey. Own transport is essential (We are not accessible via public transport). From routine dental work and vaccination to lameness or medicine investigation, our experienced vets offer our clients peace of mind when it comes to a horse’s veterinary care. We are now seeking a customer-focused Practice Manager to join our small friendly team. You will possess a passion for growing the business and the ability to drive culture change. The main duties include: Financial Working alongside the Partners to optimise profitability through regular review of key metrics. Generating turnover reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasting. Overseeing debtor management and internal processes to optimise cash flow. Supporting the office manager with client invoicing and outstanding accounts owed (including insurance). Overseeing accounts payable. Line management Daily management of 2-3 admin colleagues. Recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of the admin team. Performance management – 1:1 meetings, appraisals, disciplinary management. Monitor and manage absence, upholding HR policies including back to work meetings. Customer Service Lead and develop all support functions to ensure a continuous high level of customer care. Monitoring of customer experience, developing and implementing customer experience improvement strategies. Supporting the administration team in delivering excellent customer service. Compliance & Health & Safety Overseeing compliance against industry requirements (RCVS, VMD, RCVS Practice Standards Scheme). Ensuring the practice is compliant with regulations (H&S, fire). Project work Overseeing marketing strategy and implementation. Lead and/or create new projects such as industry accreditation – sustainability, people, PSS awards. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the business forward. Do you have: Sound financial skills, with very good knowledge of operational financial management for small businesses. Excellent people management skills, able to recruit, lead and motivate the team. Good team working skills with a collaborative approach to work and empathy for colleagues and customers. The ability to work without supervision and prioritise a complex and varied workload. Sage experience is desirable, but not essential.
