The Laurels Surgery is looking for an experienced practice nurse, on a part time basis for 30 hours per week, who is competent and confident in carrying out annual reviews for patients with long term conditions, including asthma, COPD and particularly diabetes.
Main duties of the job
Managing and treating long-term conditions, in line with national or local policies and practice needs. Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health, contraception, and cervical cytology consultations. Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults/children. Providing wound care including removal of stitches or staples, dressings and compression-dressings. Running asthma, COPD, diabetes clinics and reviews. Job responsibilities

Qualifications
NMC Registered with active PIN Competence to undertake asthma, COPD, diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates. Experience
Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressings and wound care. Willingness to work as part of a wider team, offering peer support and encouragement. Experience in a general practice setting. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
