We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our small rural dispensing GP team.

Main duties of the job Your main role is to provide general nursing support to the GP's, Nurse and HCAs at the Practice. Experience of Long-Term Condition Management, Immunisations, dressings, cytology, diabetes education are essential. Particular interest in Respiratory Management (Spirometry, FeNo) would be desirable.

About us We are a rural dispensing practice with a list size of 3300 patients, 1 GP and 2 salaried GPs. We are also a training practice with GP Registrars, FY2s, and Medical Students.

EMIS web, High QOF achievement, Offers Enhanced Services, actively involved in PCN.

Salary negotiable dependent on experience.

Job responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our established Nursing Team at Cartmel Surgery for 9 hours per week.

Monday 9.30am-6.30pm, there may be some flexibility for the right applicant. Additional hours will be required to cover sickness or annual leave.

The successful candidate will hold NMC registration and be a UK resident, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. They will join our experienced team and work alongside a Nurse and 3 Healthcare Assistants.

We are located in Cartmel, South Cumbria and have strong links to the community while also working closely with other local practices through our Primary Care Network (PCN). We are a Veteran Friendly and hold an Outstanding CQC rating. We are a training Practice which offers placements to GP Registrars, FY2, and Medical Students.

We are seeking a qualified Nurse who is enthusiastic, approachable, compassionate, organised, and confident to work unsupervised. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

Duties include:

Smear tests

Child immunisations

ECGs

Removal of sutures

Attend and participate in training and meetings as required

Assist with coil and minor surgery

Wound care

Injections and vaccinations

General nursing duties as required.

Experience of long-term condition management, in particular respiratory, is desirable but not essential.

As a member of our nursing team, you will be supported by a full complement of clinical and non-clinical staff. A basic knowledge of EMIS Web would be an advantage but full training will be given.

Person Specification Qualifications

Qualified NMC Registered Nurse

Able to work in the UK without Visa Sponsorship

Applicants must hold current UK professional Registration

A Diploma in Long-term condition such as: Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, CVD, Respiratory is desirable

Experience

Previous experience working in General Practice
