An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our nursing team as a Practice Nurse at Robin Lane Health & Wellbeing Centre. You will work under the direct supervision of a lead nurse and strictly in accordance to practice guidelines and protocols.
This role will be subject to you passing a 6-month probationary period.

Clinical practice
Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes to promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being. Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where possible. Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of patient consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures. Prioritise, organise and manage own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality. About us
Our GP Practice looks after the healthcare of around 13,500 patients by our forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team. We are a supportive team and we offer training practice for medical students, nursing students, and GP registrars. We have a modern purpose-built practice building. Rated Good by the CQC. We use SystmOne. We have a large non-clinical team providing additional support including IT, Finance, HR, and Administration, across both our practices, Manor Park Surgery and Robin Lane Health & Wellbeing Centre. Qualifications
Registered with NMC. Baby Immunisation. Travel Immunisation. Smear Taker Qualification. Diploma in long-term conditions management (e.g., Asthma, COPD, or diabetes). Skills
Negotiation and conflict management skills. Change-management skills and ability to support patients to change lifestyle. Ability to communicate difficult messages to patients & families. Practice supervisor and/or assessor qualification. Experience in chronic disease management, COPD & asthma. Contraception and other aspects of women's health e.g., cytology/sexual health. Experience
Aware of accountability of own role and other roles in a Nurse led service. Knowledge of health promotion strategies. Awareness of clinical governance issues in Primary Care. Knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy. Knowledge of needs of patients with long-term conditions. Knowledge of public health issues in the local area. Aware of local and national health policy. Aware of issues in the wider health economy. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
