Practice Nurse / Treatment Room Nurse / HCA
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, professional and experienced Practice Nurse, Treatment Room Nurse or Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Marysville Medical Practice. We can be fairly flexible with regards to working days and hours and will consider all applicants, part time and full time. We are ideally looking for someone to fill at least 25-30 hours per week. We would consider two part time people as an alternative to one whole time person. The successful applicant(s) would be working alongside our current clinical team, and will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services to our patient population. The role will include managing areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, as well as supporting the nursing, clinical, and management teams in achieving QOF targets, IPC and regularly reviewing clinical policy and procedure. The successful candidate(s) must have experience of working in general practice and be trained up to a high clinical standard within primary care. Main Duties of the Job

This list is not exhaustive and will flex and change to meet the demands of the practice, and with the successful candidate depending on what skills they currently hold, and what they are willing to work towards: Identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on patients' health Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans, manage chronic disease registers and run clinics for chronic disease patients Provide daily routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical-based evidence Provide wound care and dressings for patients Assist the Nurse Practitioners and Clinical team as and when necessary within the scope of practice nursing Maintain accurate clinical records Ensure records and consultations are coded and recorded effectively and accurately Chaperone patients where necessary Assist GPs with minor surgery, coil and nexplanon clinics when required Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs Implement and be active in running vaccination programmes for adults and children Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately and provide leadership and mentorship to trainees and junior staff members Support the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate Practice nursing duties including venepuncture, BP, ECG, Ear Irrigation, injections and health promotion clinics Administrative duties including ordering, stock control and keeping rooms stocked with equipment Undertake visits to our housebound patients or those in Learning Disability nursing or residential care, e.g. to administer Flu or COVID vaccines Person Specification
Qualifications
Registered Nurse who has completed GP Fundamentals course or has equivalent experience working in general practice Registered Nurse with treatment room experience HCA with supporting qualification or equivalent experience Postgraduate diploma or degree (Primary Care) Experience
Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of working as a GP practice nurse, treatment room nurse or HCA in primary care Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills Strong IT skills and competent in the use of Office and Outlook Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience of chronic disease management Experience with audit Experience with clinical risk management Experience of using EMIS or other clinical systems Disclosure and Barring Service Check
