We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Registered General Nurse to join our friendly and supportive semi-rural practice. The candidate must have experience in the management of respiratory chronic disease. Experience in childhood immunisation and cytology would be beneficial, and previous employment in Primary Care would be desirable. 25.5 hours per week Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training/regulations. We are a dynamic, supportive training practice. The clinical team currently consists of 6 GPs (2 GP Partners), a nurse practitioner, practice nurses, and HCAs. We have an excellent team of dispensers, receptionists, and administrative staff. We are members of the North Cornwall Coast Primary Care Network and work very closely with our neighbouring practices providing a Social Prescriber, Mental Health Care Practitioners, Pharmacist, Paramedic, and First Contact Physiotherapist. Job responsibilities

Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes to promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being. Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long-term condition. Identify and manage as appropriate treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent, or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care. Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side effects, and interactions. Support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs. Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations. Recognise, assess, and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordance with the National/Local guidelines for Mental Health. Advise, support, and, where appropriate, administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad. Promote and deliver evidence-based care for patients presenting with aural conditions. Offer advice about childhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines are administered under patient group directions. Assessing problems presented opportunistically by patients. Able to document consultations according to NMC guidelines. Ensure awareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including systems of referral. Ability to recognise signs and symptoms of child abuse. Provide a holistic approach to wound management and implement wound care in line with current evidence-based guidelines. Able to recognize and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines. Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines. Assist in the provision of minor surgery. Ability to obtain and document informed consent (either verbal or written). Ensure infection control guidelines are maintained. Ability to monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment. Confidentiality of information gained at work must be preserved at all times. Person Specification

Membership of a professional body. Knowledge
