We are looking for a Practice Nurse who will provide care and demonstrate a safe and high professional standard of nursing care for patients within general practice. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and should have the ability to prioritise, be flexible and responsive to patient needs. The support and delivery of practice policies and procedures is essential. Main Duties of the Job

As a Practice Nurse, you will assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs. Such tasks may include: Removal of sutures Urinalysis ECGs Cervical screening Peak flow readings Venepuncture Blood pressure measurements Routine immunisations and vaccinations including adults, children/babies, travel and seasonal flu. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Administering swabs including MRSA swabs Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Working independently of other clinical staff Caring for a patient with a long term condition. Other Tasks Include:

Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs Undertaking housekeeping duties including general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels Attending and participating in any Practice meetings when required About Us

We operate from 7 locations across Holderness and you must also be willing to travel between sites as necessary. Our hard-working and dedicated team includes 23 GPs, an extensive multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and a great patient services and administration team. Recent primary/community nursing experience Evidence of working with a multidisciplinary team Involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines Knowledge

Post-registration study in topics allied to general practice Clinical skills relevant to the role Interest and basic knowledge in long-term conditions Qualifications

Evidence of appropriate knowledge base Minimum 2 years post registration Basic/advanced certificate of life support Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £14.05 to £21.36 an hour in line with Holderness Health Pay Policy.
