Integrum Power Engineering

Part of the OCU Group, is an electrical engineering design & build contractor and ICP specialising in high voltage power transmission & distribution projects. Our industry sectors include utilities, renewable energy, rail and private networks. We offer engineering services across the full project life-cycle, from feasibility studies and design through to installation, commissioning and asset management.

Role Overview

The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and preparation of construction projects during the pre-construction phase. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Estimation: Lead the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules during the pre-construction phase. Work closely with the estimating team to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for potential projects. Site Assessment and Due Diligence: Conduct site assessments and due diligence activities to evaluate project feasibility, site conditions, and regulatory requirements. Identify potential risks, constraints, and opportunities that may impact project delivery. Design Management: Coordinate the design process with architects, engineers, and consultants to develop comprehensive design packages for construction projects. Review design drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements. Value Engineering: Implement value engineering strategies to optimize project design, materials, and construction methods. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, enhance quality, and improve project efficiency while maintaining project objectives. Procurement and Subcontractor Management: Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and award subcontracts in accordance with project requirements and company policies. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards during the pre-construction phase. Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and licenses for construction projects. Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and expectations. Provide regular updates and progress reports on pre-construction activities and milestones. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks and uncertainties during the pre-construction phase. Develop risk management plans and strategies to address potential issues and minimise project delays and disruptions. Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in construction project management, with a focus on pre-construction activities. Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and best practices. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6). Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., CDM regulations, building codes) is desirable. Membership in a relevant professional organisation (e.g., Chartered Institute of Building) is advantageous. Company Information
