You will need to be able to demonstrate that you understand the role and purpose of pre assessment and have experience of working in a pre-op environment. Qualifications and/or knowledge
NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registered ODP Willingness to undergo further specialist training (Bangor University pre-assessment module. HEA-475 clinical examination module at level 6 degree). Nursing Diploma/Degree ODP diploma/degree Teaching and assessing or 998 course Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a relevant field or clinical area. Experience of time management Experience of undertaking audit work and standard setting Aptitude and Abilities
Working autonomously within agreed protocols Willingness to develop specialist clinical skills including thorough cardio-respiratory examination and detailed medical history taking Perform clinical examination incorporating inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation Perform clinical procedures e.g. spirometry, ECG, venepuncture analysis Ability to negotiate and communicate complex medical issues with all members of the multi disciplinary team referring where appropriate Ability to initiate and implement change ensuring effective service delivery Ability to adapt to and propose changes within the working environment Proficient in IT skills (Excel, e-mail, Word, WPAS, Radis, ICE, WCP) Welsh speaking Ability to lead and develop nurse/ODP led practice Values
