Main duties of the job
In order to be successful in this post you will need to be an individual that is able to work autonomously, manage your own case load of patients, and work closely with other staff from all disciplines to ensure a sufficient and effective service.
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you understand the role and purpose of pre assessment and have experience of working in a pre-op environment. Essential
NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registered ODP Willingness to undergo further specialist training (Bangor University pre-assessment module. HEA-475 clinical examination module at level 6 degree).
Desirable
Mentorship course Nursing Diploma/Degree ODP diploma/degree Teaching and assessing or 998 course
Experience
Essential
Minimum 2 years experience in a relevant field or clinical area. Experience of time management

Experience of undertaking audit work and standard setting
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential
Working autonomously within agreed protocols Willingness to develop specialist clinical skills including thorough cardio-respiratory examination and detailed medical history taking Perform clinical examination incorporating inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation Perform clinical procedures e.g. spirometry, ECG, venepuncture analysis Ability to negotiate and communicate complex medical issues with all members of the multi disciplinary team referring where appropriate Ability to initiate and implement change ensuring effective service delivery
