We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate must have exceptional people skills and a background in healthcare. Also provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. About us

Argyll House Surgery has been providing an excellent standard of medical care to thousands of patients in Ryde, Wootton Bridge and the surrounding villages for more than 25 years. Our team includes a full-time GP, two part-time GPs, two practice nurses, and one healthcare assistant as well as a Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Manager, Operations Manager, reception and secretarial staff. We run a full range of general practice services with special clinics for babies, pregnant women and patients with certain conditions. At the surgery, we aim to treat all patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. CQC We are pleased to announce that following our CQC inspection in May 2018, the practice has received a rating of Good. Job responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels: Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, doctors, and professionals. Clinical Coding/Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures. To work in accordance with written protocols. Scanning into medical records and coding all medical documentation. Photocopy as required. Processing incoming documentation ensuring read codes are added effectively. Processing referrals and sending to the appropriate teams. Ensure patient is receiving high quality care regarding their medication process and monitor considerable risk patients. Provide patient education on medication ordering and advise them when appropriate. Answering medication queries from patients, staff members and pharmacies/care homes. Inputting prescription orders. Re-authorising medication in line with practice policies and procedures alongside the clinical pharmacist. Reception Duties (to cover holidays & sickness when needed)

Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team. Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address. Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary. Process appointment requests/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person. Deal with patient visits/requests. Registrations of new patients, computer data entry and medical records. Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area). Telephone

Cover for telephonist when necessary. Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours. Other Tasks

Ensure building security. Any other tasks allocated by managers. Person Specification

Other requirements

Commit to a DBS Check. Able to undertake the demands of the post with reasonable adjustments if required. Experienced in Clinical coding and medical terminology. Knowledge and experience in prescription processing. UK Driving Licence. Ability to provide flexibility for holiday cover where needed. Experience

Experience processing medication requests. Awareness of Data Protection Act and need for confidentiality of Information. Attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, with the ability to adjust communication style. Clinical data coding including document processing. Prescription processing. Experience using SystmOne (Primary Care IT system). Previous experience working within a GP practice. Experience in working within a Customer Service environment. Excellent telephone manner. Ability to work under pressure. Qualifications

GCSE Grade A to C in English and Mathematics. Training in administration/clerical duties at NVQ level or above. NVQ Level 2/3 in Customer Services or Health Care or related discipline. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
