is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and proactive

Press and Communications Manager

to lead our communications function and team in this pivotal role in shaping our public and media relations. This essential position is the first point of contact for emergency and crisis communications, ensuring swift and effective responses that uphold the council's reputation and reassure residents and stakeholders. You will be the communications expert, offering advice, guidance, and support across the council. You will develop and implement innovative internal and external communications strategies, enhancing employee and resident engagement while safeguarding the Council’s positive local and regional reputation. In this critical role, you will ensure Ipswich Borough Council is proactive, professional, and resilient in all its communications, particularly during times of challenge or crisis.
