Press Assistant Our client, a manufacturer of specialist Print Packaging products in St Neots, currently has an immediate opportunity for a Press Assistant. The Press Assistant assists the Print Minder throughout the shift to produce work that meets all customer requirements and specifications. Responsibilities: Assist the Print Minder with tasks throughout the shift, delivering good quality product within acceptable production times. Help to ensure make readies are efficient and carry out appropriate checks. Control the press feeder during production runs, reducing stops to production and using non-stop pile changeovers for continuous production. Ensure all relevant materials and consumables required are available, clean, and supplied in the correct quantity for each job. Responsible for replenishing consumables throughout the shift. Monitor and maintain all material usage during production in order to maximise press efficiency. Prepare printing inks for subsequent runs to help achieve optimum changeover times. Ensure the housekeeping of machinery and the working area is maintained to a high standard. Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times and operate within Company Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work. Person Specification: Knowledge of the products, services, and capabilities of the business. High level of drive and self-motivation to achieve results through a conscientious attitude. The ability to offer constructive suggestions for improvement. Attention to detail. Good mechanical knowledge, offering advice and practical solutions. Organised with the ability to work well under pressure. Willingness to continually learn and improve. Extremely adaptable, with a flexible approach to working hours. Knowledge of standards for Health and Safety. Hours of Work and Pay: Rotating shift pattern 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am. Up to 30k DOE. Free parking on site. Overtime available.
