3 days a week as Press & Communications Officer for Edward Morello MP and 2 days a week as Campaigns Organiser. It is expected that the appointee will work to assist evening and weekend activities by agreement. Tenure:

Communication with all Members of the Local Party including the Member of Parliament and his staff, Councillors, Members of the Executive and ordinary Members. To assist in the recruitment of new Members and Supporters. To participate in the planning and organisation of fundraising campaigns and events. To develop the Local Party website and the use of social media. To promote the work of Local Party Councillors and the Liberal Democrats through the production of timely press-releases, campaign literature and media posts. To plan and organise volunteer training. Any other duties as reasonably required. As Press & Communications Officer You Will

Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies across multiple channels Set up and manage the MP website Help with drafting of local newspaper columns Set up, manage, and draft weekly newsletter Manage and update the MP's social media accounts and website content Monitor and respond to local news and issues Draft press releases, statements, and articles for local and national media Monitor media coverage and respond to press inquiries Create engaging online graphics and video content Research local and national issues to support the MP's work Assist with organisation and management of constituency events Liaise with local journalists and build media relationships Analyse social media engagement and produce regular reports Assist with the MP's diary management and event planning Attend events with the MP as required. Essential Criteria

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Experience of working with press and media. Experience of managing websites and social media. Strong copywriting abilities for various audiences and platforms. Proficiency in digital design, video editing and photography. Solid understanding of current political issues and parliamentary processes. Ability to create and execute multi-week, multi-channel communications plans. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a public-facing role. Proficiency in IT systems and social media platforms. Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrat Party. Driving licence. Desirable Criteria

Experience of working with volunteers. An understanding of working within agreed budgets. Experience of producing written reports. Experience in political communications or working for an MP. Event planning and management experience. Understanding of data protection and handling sensitive information. Project management experience. Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members' Staff Security Clearance page for further info.
