Role Purpose:
To assess the design, manufacture, and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using defined Codes, Standards, specifications, procedures, and knowledge and experience appropriate for complex/demanding situations. This role may also include managing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
To perform complex assessments and provide advice for service delivery within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees’ work as requested.
To discuss/present the deliverable with the external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
To assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and Lloyd’s Register’s standard terms and conditions (e.g., Commercial Notice).
To pursue CPD and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
To develop technically other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships.
To make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
