Family Resource Service: Youth Offending Prevention Team Based at Bury Town Hall About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Prevention Coach to join our Youth Offending Prevention Team based at Bury Town Hall. The Prevention Coach role is intended to provide support to primary aged children who have been identified as being at risk of displaying aggression/disruptive behaviours which in the future could lead them to entering the criminal justice system. The role will offer intensive holistic support to young people within a primary school setting, prevention mentoring, a better understanding of impact of behaviour and support their access to education and diversionary activities. The services will be delivered in a variety of settings and may also include groupwork. We are a dedicated and hard working team that has a clear aim to prevent and reduce the number of children and young people from entering the Criminal Justice System. We work in partnership across Bury with Schools, Children's Social Care, Health Services and the Third Sector, to contribute to the best possible outcomes for children, young people and their families. The work is varied, fast paced, sometimes challenging with the opportunity to develop creative, strength based and innovative solutions. We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and inspiring candidate who has experience of working with children (5-18 years) and families, who need support across a range of areas within their lives. You must be able to demonstrate a patient, and engaging approach and a desire to empower families to make changes to improve their lives and encourage them to reach their full potential. Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week of 8:45 17:00. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work flexibly outside of these hours to meet family’s needs. The Post is fixed term for 12 months.
