Specific initiatives the post holder will be responsible for are as follows: Delivering against the PCN DES requirements for extended access. This includes performance management of PCNs. Winter and surge planning to ensure primary care has sufficient operating models and capacity throughout winter and other times of the year. Delivering on the Recovery Plan around change management interventions and support across all practices. Working closely with colleagues in digital and IT to ensure that practices and PCNs have the infrastructure required. Be responsible, as the organisations subject matter expert, for the interpretation of national and regional primary care policies around access and translate them into local delivery. Maintain a good knowledge of emerging policies from NHSE. Develop plans and identify and assess opportunities, mitigate threats and deliver the NHSs strategic objectives for recovering access to primary care. Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide project, information and analytical advice and expertise. Lead the creation and implementation of information systems for collecting, evaluating and interpreting large volumes of intricate data on expenditure to inform the short-, medium- and long-term strategies. The postholder will be responsible for utilising, and supporting the team to utilise, national information systems, to facilitate effective contractual processes, data collection and declarations and ensure timely payment for practices with regards to specific access workstreams. To liaise with leads across SWL working on improving primary care access to share best practice.
