We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP New Hall based in Wakefield.

HMP New Hall is a female adult and young offenders institution offering medium level of security with a population of 344 females.

The Primary Care Clinical Lead will look after a team of 15 members in the primary care team which will consist of senior staff nurses, registered nurses, and healthcare assistants.

Hours: Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm or we can offer 37.5 hours per week over 4 days.

Salary:

This position is full-time, you'll receive an annual salary between £49,848 - £55,996 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.

Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.

Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.

Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication, and competence.

Coach, line manage, and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.

Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.

Person Specification

Registered Nurse Adult Current professional qualification (NMC)

Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

Excellent communication skills

Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
