Job Summary Exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and good-humoured Primary Care Network looking for a like-minded GP to join our PCN Additional Roles team. North Cotswold PCN is looking for an enthusiastic, newly qualified GP to join their team on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2025. The role will be part of the PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and may be extended beyond March, pending NHS funding arrangements and guidance. Eligibility To be eligible for this role, you must have qualified within 2 years. Main Duties of the Job

In accordance with the practice timetable, undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion. Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers. Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Develop care plans for health consultations with patients in line with current PCN and practice disease management protocols. Provide counselling and health education. Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Collect data for audit purposes as requested for support. Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible). Prescribe in accordance with the PCN and practice prescribing formulary whenever clinically appropriate. Undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. About Us

Our surgery teams are working closely with each other to share expertise and resources, developing new services to improve the quality of care provided to our patient population. Job Responsibilities

Awareness of and compliance with all relevant PCN and practice policies/guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety. A commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice. Support/contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting as requested. Contribute to the development of computer-based patient records. Contribute to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data. Attend training and events organised by the PCN, practice or other agencies, where appropriate. Confidentiality

You will have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, PCN and practice employees, and other healthcare workers. All such information must be regarded as strictly confidential. Health & Safety

You will implement and lead on a full range of health and safety and infection control as defined in the PCN and practice health & safety policy/manual, including: Using personal security systems within the workplace according to guidelines. Awareness of national standards of infection control and cleanliness. Management of infection control procedures. Equality and Diversity

Participate in any training programme implemented by the PCN as part of this employment. Quality

You will be managed by Dr. Hywel Furn-Davies (PCN Clinical Director) who will oversee activities. Person Specification

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies Essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of the health and social needs of a local practice patient population. Strong attention to detail. Patience and calm demeanour in stressful situations. Desirable Excellent time management skills. Excellent record-keeping skills. Qualifications Essential Fully Qualified GP eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS. Must have qualified under two years before employment. MBBS or equivalent medical degree. National Performers List Registration. General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003. Clear DBS report. Evidence of commitment to ongoing personal & professional development. Desirable Understanding of the needs of vulnerable patient groups. Experience Essential Ability to listen actively to patients. The ability to deal with criticism and work well under pressure. Formulating treatment plans and evaluating progress. Desirable Experience with clinical IT systems SystmOne and EMIS.
