UPS / Leadership Scale Outer London (paid directly with the school) We are working with a firendly & supportive mainstream primary school based in Harrow, who are looking for a suitably experienced SENCO either on a FULL TIME OR PART TIME basis from February half term, on a 1 Year Maternity contract. About the Role As SENCO, you will: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. Ensuring that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations Ensuring that the school is equipped with adequate equipment and facilities for special educational needs, including wheelchair accessibility and audio-visual learning aids Preparing and leading SEN training for Teachers and Teaching Assistants Assessing the specific educational needs of children with learning disabilities and providing recommendations for their support Producing regular reports and updates on the educational progress of children to Senior Teachers and parents Providing referrals for children to receive support outside of school hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists or Tutors Requirements for SENCO role; A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND. NASENCO - National Award for SEN Coordination In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals. A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
