A key focus of this role will be to develop and grow the Seashell audiology service. We are looking for someone with the experience and passion to move our service forward. Although the role won't carry a caseload, it will support the existing Audiologists and take the lead for clinical governance and facilitating new people into the service as it continues to grow. You will also need to have a good understanding of the needs of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions, MSI, profound and multiple intellectual disabilities, and complex physical disabilities. Job responsibilities
To lead the development of new Audiology Services across the Trust. Responsible and accountable for the business management, operational running, and strategic planning of the Audiology Services at Seashell Trust. To manage and supervise qualified Audiologists to develop their clinical skills. To lead on development of Audiology training packages and coaching to upskill the broader workforce and external stakeholders on a local and national level. To lead on Clinical Governance agendas for the Audiology team. To develop and promote the Audiology service within the organisation and within National and International forums. To lead Audiology service evaluation and research agendas and act as project manager for new innovations. To provide information and make recommendations within the Audiology service, Outreach team, CQC registered Health Care Service, Directorate and Trust as required. To provide expert, highly specialised and effective scientific theoretical and practical input into the strategic planning, management, and financial delivery of its diagnostic, assessment, and rehabilitative audiological services. To support the existing Audiologists and take the lead for clinical governance and facilitating new people into the service as it continues to grow. Person Specification
Qualifications
MSc in Audiology or Healthcare Science, or equivalent level or significant relevant experience. Certificate of Audiological Competence or Diploma in Clinical Competence in Audiology, or equivalent State Registration (HCPC or RCCP). Evidence of continued professional development including Masters level study or working towards. Recognised Leadership and Management qualification. Experience
Experience of working as an Audiologist with children and/or young people with profound and complex learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Experience of management and clinical supervision of qualified professionals. Experience of developing clinical governance agendas including clinical audit. Experience of conducting audiology service evaluation. Experience of developing new audiology services. Good understanding of the needs of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism spectrum conditions, MSI, profound and multiple intellectual disabilities and complex physical disabilities. Completion and publishing of research/sharing of service evaluation findings via professional conferences and publications. Working with children and young people who demonstrate behaviours of concern. Experience of working within an education setting.
