An Employee owned multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking for a Chartered Principal Bridge Engineer to take the leading position in their York office as they look to implement their growth plans. After successfully winning 3 large Bridge schemes with Network Rail, they need someone to take the helm and facilitate further growth from 5 to 12 engineers.
As a Principal Bridge Engineer in this role, they can offer up to £65,000, plus tax-free share bonus, discretionary performance bonus, and a generous benefits package! You will also receive support from the Senior leadership team and Bridge Leads from the other offices in London and Glasgow.
You will need to show that you have experience in liaising with and delivering to Network Rail and an extensive technical design background in Bridge Design.
Principal Bridge Engineer Responsibilities
Development of conceptual and detailed designs in accordance with project requirements. Technical leadership/input/review role for design, assessment, and other technical aspects. Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals. Managing and building relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. Attending meetings representing the consultancy and the design team. On-site visits/structural inspections/investigations. Project management of small and medium-sized projects.
Principal Bridge Engineer Requirements
An engineering degree and be chartered or sitting review within 12 months (ICE/IstructE). Experience in undertaking the role of CRE Bridge refurbishment/renewals in a range of structural types and materials. Experience with some of the following structures: bridges, concrete, steel, timber, masonry. Project management experience including project scoping, coordinating design activities, contractual and financial management. Experience in managing junior members of the team. Experience in working on multiple concurrent and multi-discipline commissions. Experience in representing the company to clients and working with a range of project stakeholders. Work winning in a client-facing role. Clean driving licence.
