Experienced Professional Mechanical Building Services – Principal Design Engineer UK Based Join a team at Siemens Energy that sets the standards in the energy industry. We're seeking a Building Services Design Engineer who loves ambitious projects to support the Energy Transition. Based in the UK, this role offers independence and collaboration, with a chance to make a significant impact. How will I make an impact?

Design, detail, and specify auxiliary systems ensuring strict compliance with contractual and legal requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards (Heating, Ventilation & Cooling, BMS, Plumbing, etc.). Review and evaluate client-supplied enquiry documents and specifications to determine the technical requirements. Approve technical specifications for auxiliary systems pre and post-contract award for HV substation and interconnector projects, ensuring alignment with relevant standards. Provide technical expertise in auxiliary systems to the engineering department, ensuring successful implementation of solutions. Conduct design reviews of subcontractor design packages and report on their compliance with necessary technical standards. Collaborate with the engineering planner to develop and review project programs, ensuring timelines are met. Manage and facilitate the work of others, investing time in mentorship and professional development. Respond to the ideas, concerns, and needs of team members, encouraging an inclusive and nurturing environment. What do I bring?

HNC/HND/Degree Qualified in Building Services or equivalent. Chartered Engineer status preferred and membership of CIBSE or equivalent is advantageous. Proven experience in crafting solutions for industrial applications. Fully conversant with the latest standards and technologies. Proficiency in Hevacomp; AutoCAD, Revit, and Stabicad is beneficial. Understanding of contract awareness and the ability to formulate “Scope of Service” documents for third-party consultants is advantageous but not mandatory. Self-motivated with the ability to work and make decisions independently. Strong organizational skills to ensure all deadlines are met and timely responses to information requests are provided with outstanding focus on detail. Excellent communication skills.
