Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer with a background in the nuclear sector to be engaged on a permanent basis; the role offers flexible hybrid working with a base in the North West ideally, either West Cumbria or Manchester. The role is to join an existing well-established civil/structural team and to be responsible for the delivery of complex design packages for key nuclear clients. This is a senior/lead level role on projects and the individual must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in becoming a civil/structural lead that can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery, with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and motivate a team, demonstrating good leadership qualities. Work both independently and as part of a larger multi-discipline team. Collaborate effectively with market colleagues, other wider-business colleagues, and the management team. Demonstrate expertise in engineering design and substantiation, including first principles analysis.

Qualifications: Experience in the nuclear sector is preferred but not required. Candidates should be an Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognised institution such as The Institution of Civil Engineers and/or The Institution of Structural Engineers. Hold a minimum engineering degree qualification (accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers, or other recognised body).
