Are you an enthusiastic pharmacist with Oncology experience looking for your next challenge? Service innovation & Trust investment has created a new pharmacist role to better enhance service delivery. You will be key in providing cross-site senior leadership & delivery of the clinical oncology and haematology pharmacy service whilst taking on the responsibility of ensuring wider support to the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team in the delivery & development of the clinical pharmacy service. This post will serve the Ipswich and Colchester oncology and haematology sites within ESNEFT, therefore you will work cross site, but with a base site of Ipswich Hospital. You will have the opportunity to use your skills & clinical expertise to model this new job role in accordance with the departmental vision. ESNEFT is about to embark on the implementation of the EPIC electronic patient record which includes electronic prescribing & administration as well as pharmacy stock control system. It is envisaged that this new role will play a key supportive role within this process moving forward. In addition to our fully automated dispensaries we host one of the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines advice sites & the Regional Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (including a brand new Aseptic facility). Both sites offer oncology and haematology treatments for all main tumour sites including a bone marrow transplantation service at Ipswich. Main duties of the job

Be the principal pharmacist for Oncology and Haematology CDG, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the optimal and cost effective use of medicines across the service; minimising drug wastage and managing the use of high-cost medicines accordingly. Provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to the CDG in line with the Trust and pharmacy Key Performance Indicators, agreed clinical standards and medicines legislation. Provide ongoing clinical support, leadership and guidance to pharmacy colleagues contributing to the clinical pharmacy service within the oncology and haematology CDG. Develop clinical pharmacy input into the Oncology and Haematology CDG and provide departmental leadership into this speciality. This will involve close collaboration with colleagues from each hospital site to ensure cross-site consistency of practice within the speciality. Take responsibility for delivering, managing and assisting in the development of clinical pharmacy services. Be integral in the development of, and maintenance of, the digital medicines agenda within Pharmacy. Provide senior support and leadership in the absence of the Associate Chief Pharmacist at the Ipswich hospital site. You will be the Accountable Pharmacist (after development in post) for the Chemotherapy Production Unit in Ipswich Hospital. About us

Experience

Extensive post-registration experience with substantial hospital pharmacy experience Substantial experience of working within O&H speciality Management of staff and management of a pharmacy section/team Experience of undertaking medicines and service audit Experience of providing and evaluating pharmacy education and training Experience of implementing and writing/reviewing guidelines, PGDs, procedures, business cases and reports Membership of Trust wide groups or committees Risk management and medication safety Experience of working through change in the workplace and of the impact of change Project management and audit experience Drug expenditure analysis and reporting Work at specialist or division level with responsibility for pharmacy services to this area Implementation and use of electronic prescribing systems for SACT Education and training of other members of the MDT Approval of SACT within an aseptic environment Staff management and appraisal Participation in undertaking research and development studies Qualifications

Vocational master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent + examined pre-registration training Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council Evidence of and commitment to continuing professional development Member of British Oncology Pharmacy Association PTQA Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance Diploma or equivalent Prescriber status Management / leadership course Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Postgraduate qualification within oncology/malignant disease Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification Disclosure and Barring Service Check
