Full time
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative clinician to join the Department of Psychological Medicine in a newly commissioned post to provide psychological support and intervention for the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in Grimsby and Scunthorpe, and the Paediatric Diabetes Service across North and North East Lincolnshire.

The post involves providing direct and indirect psychotherapeutic interventions. Multidisciplinary team working is key to this role and therefore the post also involves liaising with service managers, clinical team leads and allied health professionals to support the provision of a specialist clinical psychology service for young people, families and staff in Neonatal and Diabetes services. The post holder will be expected to support the development of these new services in collaboration with leads for the Neonatal and Paediatric Diabetes services.

This post is suited to someone with an interest in, or experience in, working with children, young people, families and teams in acute and community health care services. However, if you have recently qualified, or are due to qualify soon, we would welcome your application.

The post will be supervised and supported by the Principal Clinical Psychologist for Neonatal Psychology, and the Principal Clinical Psychologist for Paediatric Diabetes Psychology Service in the Department of Psychological Medicine.

To provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention for Neonatal and Paediatric Diabetes services in North and North East Lincolnshire in the context of integrated and comprehensive multidisciplinary specialist health services.

NLAG is part of one of the largest acute and community Group arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion. Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Group has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Group and our community.

Should we receive a high volume of applications the advert may be closed earlier than stated.
