We are looking for a
Principal Clinical Psychologist
for the Therapeutic Interventions for Distressing and Unusual Experiences (TIDES) team. TIDES is an At-Risk Mental States (ARMS) team, which forms part of the Norfolk and Waveney Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service.
There is currently funding for up to 33.75 hours (i.e., 0.90wte) per week for this role. Part-time hours will be considered, and additional hours might be available depending on the recruitment of another role in the service. Interested candidates are encouraged to discuss their preferences and needs prior to applying for the post.
The TIDES team and Norfolk and Waveney EIP Service have bases in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, and King's Lynn. The successful candidate will be based in one of these service locations, with travel to other teams as required.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work alongside an existing Principal Clinical Psychologist in the Norfolk and Waveney EIP Service, and there will be opportunity for peer support and to work across both services where appropriate.
You will provide psychological assessment and treatment for people who are at-risk of psychosis and their families and carers. The post holder will form an integral part of the TIDES multi-disciplinary team. Job planning will be completed with the successful candidate to ensure that they are able to work safely and competently in accordance with professional guidelines.
Candidates who are trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Bipolar (CBT PB) are encouraged to apply. There will be scope for candidates to access training in CBT PB at University College London (UCL) as part of the NHS England national therapy training programme if required. Training in Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) or another type of family intervention is desirable. In-house training is available for BFT if required.

The Principal Clinical Psychologist role will involve leading on service development alongside the team manager and a Systemic Family Therapist.
The Norfolk and Waveney EIP Service has undergone significant expansion over the last eight years following funding from NHS England for the Access and Waiting Time Standard, including the development of the TIDES team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with other colleagues across the service, including psychologists and therapists.
The Norfolk and Waveney EIP Psychology team has also undergone expansion over the past five years. The current team includes two Principal Clinical Psychologists, three Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologists, one Counselling Psychologist, one Senior Psychological Therapist, five CBT therapists, four trainee CBT therapists, one Systemic Family Therapist, one Trainee Systemic Family Therapist, and four assistant psychologists. The Psychology team hold regular away days and there is opportunity for peer supervision and Continued Professional Development (CPD).
We are a research active service with regular opportunities to get involved in national and local projects. The service has links with the University of East Anglia (UEA) Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology and the UEA Special Interest Group for Psychosis.
