To be successful as a Senior Cloud Engineer, you should have: Extensive cloud engineering experience in AWS. Experience in the software development lifecycle. Knowledge of working with code repositories. Proficiency in Python, CloudFormation, and Terraform. Highly valued skills may also include: Experience in data engineering with tools like Spark and Airflow. Experience or qualifications in a secondary cloud environment (Azure or GCP). You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will: Build Engineering: Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to fulfill business requirements while ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use. Incident Management: Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages. Automation: Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Security: Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats. Teamwork: Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives. Learning: Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to our technology communities. Description

This role will be based in our Glasgow campus, but our office in Knutsford can also be considered. You will advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment. Managing and mitigating risks will be crucial, as well as demonstrating leadership and accountability for strengthening controls in relation to the work your team undertakes. Collaboration with various business areas to stay updated on business activities and strategies is essential. Problem-solving will require in-depth analysis and interpretative thinking, enabling the creation of innovative solutions. Building and maintaining trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be essential for achieving key business objectives.
