Joining the Engineering team and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Principal Design Analyst will be responsible for leading the architectural design and analysis on exciting development projects with customer facing responsibilities. This role combines theoretical expertise and hands-on experience to deliver the project lifecycle from requirements analysis through to system deployment in challenging timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:
Capture, derive and manage the system requirement sets
Propose, model (Simulink) and develop the system solutions for a high-performance electro-optic, stabilization and target tracking systems
Analyze and derive subsystem requirements (sensors, image processing, motor performance, etc)
Validate models through experimentation and subsystem prototyping
Support electrical and software engineers in the implementation and optimization of system code and hardware design
Review analysis reports and system
Work with project managers to establish achievable project schedules, work packages and estimates.
Provide and execute staged system integration plans with active risk management
Provide and execute system verification and validation plans
Skills & Experience
Essential
Leadership to produce high performance/quality products
Practical understanding and experience of PID control loops
Motor design and performance parameters and application of motion profiles
Capture, analysis and derivation of system requirements
Systems design analysis, trade-off studies and modelling of complex systems
Provision of innovative and architectural design
Development and optimization of algorithms dealing with real world inputs - experimentation with different techniques
Modelling in Simulink and implementation in C
System integration and test planning experience
Provision of detailed technical documentation and presentations to a wide variety of stakeholders
Technical leadership on complex and high-profile projects with multidiscipline teams

Security Clearance Requirements:
