Principal Design Engineer
to be based out of South West London. Job Overview: This role is working for a leading EPC company on a subsea pipeline project for a 12+ month duration. Skills Required: Degree qualified in civil, structural, or mechanical discipline. Involvement primarily in detailed FE analysis and general subsea pipeline and spools design activities, including wall thickness, stability, bottom roughness, and freespan. A comprehensive understanding of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and fatigue, as well as installation and constructability aspects of pipeline systems. Extensive experience in subsea engineering with knowledge of typical subsea software tools. What do you need to succeed? Qualifications and Software: Degree qualified in civil, structural, or mechanical discipline. FEA software: Orcaflex, ANSYS, ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D solid elements) and hand calculations. Knowledge of DNV SESAM, Sage Profile 2D, and AutoPIPE will be a benefit.
