Principal Civil Design Engineer

to join a leading water and wastewater company. This role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in civil engineering design, specifically in the water sector. The ideal candidate will bring confidence and adaptability to ongoing design work and excel in collaborating with teams and clients to refine and develop effective engineering solutions. Responsibilities of the Principal Civil Design Engineer will include: Leading and managing civil design projects within the water and wastewater sector. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design solutions that meet project specifications and client needs. Providing clear and concise explanations of design concepts to clients and stakeholders. Reviewing and refining design work, ensuring it meets technical standards and project objectives. Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, offering guidance on design issues and solutions. Conducting site assessments and surveys to inform design decisions. Liaising with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure the smooth delivery of design projects. Managing project timelines and budgets, ensuring design work is completed on schedule and within budget. Ensuring designs comply with relevant regulations and health, safety, and environmental standards. Requirements: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex design concepts clearly to clients and team members. Ability to collaborate effectively and adapt designs based on client feedback and project requirements. Proficient in using design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. A relevant engineering qualification (e.g., BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering). Chartered status (e.g., CEng) is desirable but not essential. Experience with design codes, regulations, and health and safety requirements. What This is Offering: Competitive salary of 55,000 to 65,000, dependent on experience. 3.5k car allowance Opportunities for ongoing professional development and CPD. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
