The Principal Designer Role
As the Principal Designer, you will take a key role in managing design risk and embedding health and safety into all project stages. Working closely with clients, contractors, and design teams, you will ensure projects meet the highest safety standards while maintaining efficiency and functionality. Deliver Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations. Conduct design risk assessments and develop hazard elimination strategies. Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans. Provide CDM and health and safety advice to clients, architects, and contractors. Attend site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with clients and design teams to deliver safe and effective solutions. Mentor and support junior team members within the consultancy. The Principal Designer
Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification. Membership of APS (AaPS, IMaPS, or CMaPS) is desirable. 2+ years proven experience as a Principal Designer. Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices.
