Our client, a well-established and growing specialist and multi-disciplined surveying consultancy, is looking for a Principal Designer to join their growing team on a hybrid/remote basis in Cambridge.

The Principal Designer will be operating as a key member of the team as they will be the main contact between clients, designers, and contractors regarding health and safety issues. They will ensure health and safety compliance and that CDM regulations are met to ensure the delivery of new build and refurbishment education projects.

Principal Designer Position Overview

Liaising and communicating with clients, contractors, Building Surveyors, architects, and more to offer advice and guidance on CDM/health and safety issues Assisting with the preparation of health and safety/CDM documentation for contractors, clients, and others such as Health and Safety Files Working collaboratively with colleagues and keeping them informed of issues on your projects at all times Attending pre-contract and other site meetings and conducting independent H&S site audits/inspections Bringing together all information on how to run the project and ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are met Project Management duties

Principal Designer Position Requirements

Minimum of 3-4 years' experience within a similar role NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent/higher Relevant HNC, HND, BSc, or MSc (or equivalent) in a construction-related topic Good knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills Full UK driving licence Living within commuting distance of Cambridge Happy to travel as required

Principal Designer Position Remuneration

Salary: £40k - £50k (Guide only - DOE) Holiday Allowance: 25 Days + Bank holiday + 3 Days Christmas Discretionary bonus Pension Scheme Private healthcare Phone allowance Early finish on Fridays
