The role

As Principal Drainage Engineer you will ensure the practicality and commercial feasibility of design solutions adhere to codes and standards. Effectively lead, interpret and communicate health and safety information to your team.

The ideal candidate will be able to

Generate innovative drainage design concepts that meet customer needs and market demands, balancing creativity with practical feasibility. Create and review drainage detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software and other design tools. Lead the development of prototypes, overseeing testing and validation to ensure designs meet performance and reliability standards. Conduct thorough design reviews, ensuring all designs meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Perform cost analysis for designs, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality. Project management skills to execute multi-disciplinary programmes.

About you

Supporting the design department's leadership under the department head's guidance. The Principal Drainage Engineer will have exceptional engineering judgment, application, and innovation while providing solutions throughout project stages.

You will ideally be able to Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, and other relevant tools. Skilled in mentoring and developing junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices in infrastructure design and project management. Demonstrates a commitment to sustainable drainage design practices, integrating environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions into infrastructure projects. A relevant Civil Engineering degree or related field.
