A small rapidly growing environmental consultancy based in Newcastle is looking to hire an experienced Principal Ecologist to further develop their business and lead on projects. You will join a dedicated team who pride themselves on offering more than just ecology services to a broad range of clients. This is a fantastic time to join this ambitious company and help shape the company's future and direction. You will be tasked to win, deliver a range of ecological surveys and assessments, working alongside the company's managing director. As part of your role, you will help in the training and mentoring of junior consultants. You will take the lead in managing your own projects and have previous experience delivering desktop surveys, protected species and habitat surveys, and ecological impact assessments. To be considered for this role you will: Hold protected species licenses (ideally a level 2 Bat Licence) Have previous experience managing a range of surveys Be comfortable training and leading junior staff Have CIEEM membership In return, you will join a flexible organization that is keen to find the right person to fit the right role and will also consider flexible working hours, including part-time working. The role will involve managing ecological surveys, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, and delivering high-quality consultancy services.
