Principal Electrical Engineer - South West

Principal Electrical Engineer sought in the South West (Plymouth, Exeter or Bristol). We are working with one of the UK's top design consultancies, specialising in M&E and high value works. Our client is seeking a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team of professionals. Senior electrical experience is required as well as a relevant degree; however, we are open to discussions with those holding equivalent M&E construction experience, authority, and qualifications. My client is also seeking to connect with any who have High Voltage (HV) experience, building a brand new team around this skillset and branching out to new and more exciting projects involving extensive HV work. Your new employer: Established well over 150 years ago; our client is a historic industry-leading M&E Consultancy within the UK. People-focused & with net-zero ambitions, this business is evolving with the times and remains dominant in their sectors. Daily Duties of a Principal Electrical Engineer: To be a thorough and confident leader of people, skilled and experienced enough to take the lead within a team of trained professionals. Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications & reports). Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs, and customer requirements. Client-facing, making client presentations on selected projects. Plus, all traditional duties expected of a Senior / Principal Engineer. What you’ll need to succeed as a Principal Electrical Engineer: Ideally; High Voltage training, qualifications or a strong understanding of them. Experience working with HV, and the willingness to train and learn more about it. Strong leadership ability & people management skills. BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or relevant equivalent. Relevant professional affiliation / chartership (MRICS / IEng / CEng / MCIBSE etc). Demonstrating a minimum of 4 years’ Building Services design professional background. Experience in managing Junior Electricians, Apprentices, and Graduates. Understanding of commercial elements of projects. Experience in software design including IES, Revit or Hevacomp is highly desired but non-essential. In return, we are offering an exciting prospect for the right individual to join a newly forming team, with opportunity to lead as Principal Electrical Engineer. Packages are strongly dependent on experience and appear highly competitive. Interested?
