The Principal Engineer of Connectivity Operations & SRE is a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of GSK's global network infrastructure. This role involves leading complex network projects, providing expert-level troubleshooting, and guiding the Network Operations team in best practices and advanced network solutions.

In this role you will

Serve as the technical authority for network operations, providing guidance on complex network issues and solutions. Support and provide feedback in the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance, resilient network infrastructures using SRE practices. Mentor and develop network engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Oversee the day-to-day operations of GSK's global network, ensuring optimal performance and availability. Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network incidents and problems. Aid in the continual improvement of network management and monitoring tools to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues. Maintain robust network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure network operations comply with relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests, addressing any identified risks. Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, reliability, and security. Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and best practices. Manage relationships with network service providers, hardware vendors, and other external partners. Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand and meet network requirements. Communicate network performance, issues, and initiatives to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering and operations, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role. Expert-level knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and others. Strong understanding of network security principles and practices. Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Very strong capability to assess and recommend improvements in processes and procedures, communicating value and illustrating improvements using metrics and data. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to think differently, to create positive destruction of status quo, and communicate ideas effectively in writing.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends. ITIL and/or SRE certifications a plus. Passionate about enhancing the customer experience. Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs. Experience with environments with 100K plus users. Passion for troubleshooting and being able to ask the right questions to solve a problem.
