Hook, UK (Hybrid) Description We’re looking for a passionate Identity & Platform Security Principal Engineer to help us deliver a robust security environment, that is identity-based for the whole company, including Manufacturing and OT environments. The role will be partnering closely with our IPS Architect as well as internal and external technical teams to run this exciting effort to redesign how Elanco manages identity & security in the future. Identity is a fundamental need for the entire organisation. Whilst hundreds of internal applications rely on identity to function, we’re taking this opportunity to build an intelligent identity solution that can automate business processes, protect the company, and deliver an effortless user experience. The Identity & Platform Security (IPS) Principal Engineer will work closely with the IPS Architect and be accountable for all Identity and Security platform services globally, also working closely with the CTO, CISO and Enterprise Architecture community to embed the Identity and Security principles across the organisation. The role does not include people management; however, it will provide technical leadership and support for the Identity and Security engineering teams. You’ll spend your time: Technical Leadership Partnering with the IPS Architect to embed and maintain the global Identity & Security strategy, working to define a clear execution plan. Identifying and positioning new Identity technologies that yield competitive advantage, with a specific focus on identity as the perimeter. Deploying and configuring technologies highlighted in the experiences section. Creation of documentation and materials to support the wider team. Providing Identity architecture & security best practice technical leadership and decision making for the engineering team. Working on projects and programs to ensure they are technically sound, will do no harm, and will deliver the expected outcomes. Establishing strong partnerships across the engineering community and Information Security, helping to identify improvement opportunities and mitigate risks. Running deep dive initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realise opportunities. Embedding security, privacy, data protection and quality assurance across IT. External Engagement Actively building and staying abreast of emerging technology directions related to Identity architecture, guiding IT on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies. Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire. Experience: 3+ years of experience in technology project leadership, managing and advancing complex, global environments. 3+ years of experience delivering enterprise technology solutions. 3+ years of experience across Identity, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Privileged Access Management, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, etc. 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Security products such as Defender and Sentinel. 3+ years of experience working with public cloud architecture (Microsoft Azure, GCP, etc.) 3+ years of experience working with modern architecture methodologies (Service Orientated Architecture, API-Centric Design, Twelve-Factor App, FAIR, etc.) Experience with identity-based access security. Experience with network security concepts such as SASE and SSE. Experience defining and executing large-scale, transformative strategic plans. Demonstrated influence and communication skills across all levels of IT and third parties. Demonstrated strength in facilitation skills. Strong organizational and communications skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree. Other Information Occasional travel may be required.
