Principal Estimator

to join our busy team based in Aberdeen, Scotland. We offer a flexible hybrid working pattern. We can offer this position as staff or LTD Co. Responsibilities: Preparation, review, and submission of accurate estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. Ensures accurate budgeting and planning can take place, supporting robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure the project can be delivered profitably. Responsible for the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. Supports more senior members of the estimating team in the management and development of the estimating team, management of the contract or project estimating norms, and preparation and filing of project estimate documentation. May act as the focal point for several project scopes. Responsible for identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the Estimating team. Requirements: Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience). A good level of experience in progressive industries and estimating positions. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed understanding of how these are applied. Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques. Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management. Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role. Personal Attributes: Demonstrates commitment to Wood Values, Visions & Behaviours. Strong analytical skills and ability to use estimating methods. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Effective organization & planning skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Uses initiative, experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to guide, mentor & supervise others.
