Principal Finite Element Design Engineer

PRINCIPAL FINITE ELEMENT DESIGN ENGINEER - CONTRACT - SURREY Our Client, an offshore oil and gas contractor, is currently looking for two experienced Principal Finite Element Design Engineers to join the team. QUALIFICATIONS & SOFTWARE A minimum 2:1 degree in civil, structural or mechanical discipline. FEA software Orcaflex, ANSYS, ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D solid elements) and hand calculations. Knowledge of DNV SESAM, Sage Profile 2D and AutoPIPE will be a benefit. EXPERIENCE A comprehensive understanding of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics and fatigue, as well as installation and constructability aspects of pipeline systems. Must have extensive experience in subsea engineering with knowledge of typical subsea software tools. JOB SCOPE Will be involved primarily in detailed FE analysis but also in general subsea pipeline and spools design activities, such as wall thickness, stability, bottom roughness, and freespan. RATE : Please quote what limited company hourly rate you would be looking for. DURATION : Start ASAP. WORK PATTERN : Hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days working at home.
