A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal Fire Engineer or an ambitious Senior to join a dynamic Fire Engineering team in their Northampton office. This is an exciting chance to contribute to a growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a proven reputation for excellence.

This consultancy's Fire Engineering Division is one of the UK's largest, known for its quality of service and responsiveness. With offices nationwide and part of a global company, the team has expanded rapidly and now works on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across multiple sectors, including Residential, Commercial, Nuclear, Education, Aviation, Healthcare, High-Hazard, and Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage fire engineering projects and a team of up to 10 people. Deliver technically excellent fire engineering design across a range of projects. Provide early-stage strategic input and work through to detailed design and post-occupancy evaluations. Lead site inspections and provide detailed reports during construction. Support the Director of Fire Engineering in the implementation of the business plan and the development of new opportunities.

What We Are Looking For:

A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng or equivalent). Previous experience working in fire engineering consultancy, providing fire strategy and safety services. A genuine passion for fire engineering and a proactive, self-starting attitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-driven environment. Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to motivate and manage a team. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Fire Engineering team works across various sectors, offering services such as: Fire engineering design and analysis Fire strategy development and code compliance advisement Means of escape design Evacuation analysis and pedestrian flow modelling Smoke control design and Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Analysis Structural fire protection and fire impact analysis Post-occupation services like fire management plans and fire risk assessments

Location:

This role is based in the Northampton office, but applications from surrounding areas are welcomed.
