Midlands preferred, with national coverage and regular travel. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Fire Risk Assessor to join our Property Compliance team. This role is central to ensuring fire safety compliance across a range of premises and sectors. As a leader in the team, you will provide expert guidance, conduct complex fire risk assessments, and develop bespoke fire safety strategies. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional passionate about fire safety, with a proven ability to manage national coverage effectively and work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Conduct high-risk and complex fire risk assessments across a wide variety of premises. Develop comprehensive and tailored fire safety strategies to meet legal and client requirements. Mentor and provide technical support to junior assessors, fostering their development and ensuring quality standards. Deliver clear and actionable fire risk assessment reports, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and industry standards. Provide expert fire safety advice to clients and stakeholders, maintaining a strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, guidance, and standards. Liaise with fire services, building managers, and other professionals to develop and implement fire safety plans. Maintain and record continuous professional development (CPD) in line with industry requirements. Stay updated with changes in legislation and best practices to ensure compliance and improve fire safety outcomes. Plan, schedule, and prioritize workloads to meet client deadlines while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Requirements: Qualifications: Diploma-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Fire Safety, Health & Safety, Building Engineering). Membership at Tier 2 or Tier 3 of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) or an equivalent professional body. Preferably: Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or listed on a nationally recognized register such as NAFRAR or the IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors. Experience: Extensive experience in conducting fire risk assessments and developing fire safety strategies. Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, technical standards, and current trends. Demonstrated ability to manage a national portfolio of assessments, including travel and client liaison. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present findings clearly to varied audiences. Self-motivated and capable of managing workloads with minimal supervision.
