My client has been supporting public, private, and institutional clients for more than 50 years, developing transport, water, building, renewable energy, and rural development projects from concept through to commissioning and operation.
Each member has a specialization either in tunnelling or geotechnics, but the type of work is interchangeable between the two categories. There is sufficient variety of projects to cater for everyone's needs and aspirations.
You will:
Have around 8-15 years of experience as an indication of seniority. Be a Chartered Engineer. Be based in Leeds or Dublin; London-based is also a possibility. Have experience as a geotechnical discipline lead or team lead for a small to middle-sized project (3-6 people). Have the ability to identify objectives, direct team members, and motivate them to achieve collective goals. The following technical skills/experience are preferred, ticking the more boxes the better: Piles in Chalk and Glacial Till. Offshore design, preferably windfarm and port. Foundation design. Linear transportation (railway, highway) sector experience. Embankments and cuttings. Ground treatment/improvement. Cross-over between engineering geology and geotechnical engineering skills is a bonus, but not essential. Geo-environment skill is a bonus, but not essential. Hydro-geology skill is a bonus, but not essential.
